I would love to see what you can see
That makes you look at me
And make decisions that affect me
I would like to think I am approachable
But maybe I’m not
What do you see
That makes you feel intimidated
I would have respected you
More if you told me
To my face
Instead of conspiring against me
But you make me stronger
You make me want to be
A better person
Your words
Your actions
Inspire me to be the best me
I can be
Each time, I hear
Or feel your look
I get angry, then I heal
You are that important to me
You hater you…

Twists and turns
I really like the way this poem appears to twist and turn with changes of pace. Reading this poem to myself the longer and shorter lines create an unsettling, simmering feel verging from love to hate and back again - a bit like most relationships! I'm not sure whether I read this correctly but that was my interpretation of the poem anyway.
there is
a great engagement of emotions here. Can I set you an exercise, Melanie -Pete
Yep - I must be stretched
